How Google Search Work

This is a billion-dollar question and everyone want to know how Google search work or how Google search algorithm works to find a particular information from WEB world. Google generally get information from web pages, thousands of public database from internet, readable books, pdf, docs, user define content like local business listing and many more other sources. Crawling and indexing plays an important role in serving a good quality search result.

Basic concept behind google search information

This two things are more importance:

Crawling – Finding information via crawling

Indexing – Organizing or storing information via indexing

( Crawling is a Google search software who find the webpages on internet via automated programs called crawlers or google crawlers, look for pages that are new or updated recently. Google index those pages which are crawled by crawlers and try to analyze about the page via page content, meta description, heading, keywords, alt tag, images, videos etc. and Google stores these information via page addresses (or URLs) in a huge database that is stored on many computers. This is little bit technical but good to know 🙂)

There are more than 200 factors that plays an important role to find a right or most relevant result for search query. You may have noticed that if you are searching information on search box and once you press Enter or click on search button the information that you get is more suitable for your search term.

There is a software works behind this search who try to find information from Google database or Google index web pages on the basis of from which location you are searching, and which pages is having more updated and related keywords regarding your search query (some of them are like – are search keywords is part of URL, title of the page, are some related keywords or part of description or page content ect. )

Here are basic things that plays an important role:

  • Is page meta tag contain search related terms
  • Is URL have some related keywords regarding search
  • How new is this information
  • Is this page contains more information related to search query
  • How many quality backlinks this page have as anchor text or related keywords for this url
  • What is the PA of this page
  • Speed and download time of this page
  • Content quality of this page with respect to searching keyword

Now you may think how good will find or index my website or web pages? This is good that you got this question in your mind. There are so many ways that search engine find your website url and will index. But if you want to index or want google to find your website then you need to submit your website in google search engine. So simple right 🙂 .

“Google Search Console” is the way to submit your site to google. If you would like to index multiple pages then create sitemap.xml file (which should contain all pages URL) and upload this file in root of your domain. Once you uploaded xml file into root, then submit this xml file to Google Search Console (You should use Gmail account to login this tool.

There is different xml validation, path and process if you are using WordPress or blogger for your website.

You can submit a single page as well if you want and there is another method to index your webpages frequently is try to get quality backlinks for your website pages from relevant & quality websites so when google crawler those sites and find you link to come to your pages.
